Web Wednesdays – December Week One

Welcome to AdFeeder’s web Wednesdays, your weekly dose of the latest news and stories that have caught our eye. From technology news to the latest vehicle releases and everything in between, we aim to bring you a quick run down of what you need to know each week.

In this, the first Web Wednesday of December, we look at an entirely new advertising opportunity from Youtube, as well as a shocking teaser from MINI!

Ready? Let’s go!

The press have their hands on the all-new Fiat 500e

One of the most anticipated small electric vehicles is now in the hands of the world’s media. The Fiat 500e promises to provide an entirely new city driving experience, but will it live up to the hype? The quirky EV is set to be available in two variants; ‘City’ and ‘Long Range’. Both offer great capability, with the City boasting up to 119 miles on a single charge, and the boosted Long Range up to a fantastic 199 miles!

We urge you to check out Jonny Smith’s in-depth review on this exciting new EV here!

Youtube launches audio ads for music and podcasts

Audio ads may sound like an odd fit for a website that specializes in video, but YouTube says users are consuming more audio centric-content. The platform is launching a new type of audio-based ad unit to reach people who use the platform as their music and podcast player.

We’ll be bringing you an in-depth look into the many opportunities this brings for the automotive industry, so stay tuned for more from us!

MINI tease the JCW GP…E?

Finally, an electric hot hatch! MINI have recently been spotted testing an electric version of the JCW GP3 that was released earlier this year. “With the MINI Electric, we’ve shown how well brand-typical driving enjoyment and electric mobility can be combined,” says Bernd Körber, Head of the MINI brand. “Now it’s time to translate the passion for performance of the John Cooper Works brand to electromobility. That’s why we’re working to develop concepts for electric John Cooper Works models.”

The future of EVs is currently looking very, very exciting!

Instagram launch Guides, and we’re super excited!

The new feature gives users an easier way to share and consume helpful recommendations and tips in an easy-to-digest format. For all businesses, it’s going to be an extremely beneficial product to use, allowing users to follow a curated flow of posts with plenty of captions and detail — which is great for step-by-step guides, tips, and recommendations.

Again, looking at it from a car dealer’s perspective, the possibilities are endless. There are three different guides to choose from:

  • Places: Recommend places in your city and beyond
  • Products: Recommend your favourite products
  • Posts: Recommend posts you created or saved

We are working on a guide on… Guides which will put these methods into practise and see how well they perform against Instagram’s other post variants.
