This week, we discover a huge increase in Google searches for vans and how Snapchat is desperate to keep up with its social media rivals! 🥊
Off we go!
Snapchat follows trend with new ‘Spotlight’
Snapchat has introduced a new option in the app to create short video clips that lets users create and submit their videos directly to the ‘Spotlight feed’. There’s also a chance to win a share of $1,000,000!
Whilst we aren’t surprised to see Snapchat following TikTok and Instagram in this. Unlike its rivals, Spotlight snaps won’t feature a public comments section, and users’ profiles are private by default.
Fiat 500 E wins Car of the Year by DriveElectric
The New Fiat 500 has taken its first award win in the UK, standing out with its stylish design and affordability, with a now confirmed price tag starting from £19,995 for the Action trim, giving it 119 miles of range.
“The winner needs to move the game on in a big way and really stand out from the competition. The brand new, electric-only Fiat 500 does just that.” Richard Ingram, editor, DrivingElectric.
Francesco Vanni, country manager, Fiat and Abarth, said, “We are very excited to be launching the New 500 and winning awards even before the first UK customer deliveries have been made is testament to the hard work of our engineers and designers. We can’t wait for our customers to try it out for themselves when cars arrive early next year.”
Green number plates to boost awareness
A third of motorists in the UK would be more likely to buy an electric vehicle (EV) because of new green number plates, according to research commissioned by Nissan.
With 29% of people also looking to cut their motoring costs this year, it could come as a surprise to find out just how much an EV can help, thanks to a variety of existing financial benefits and the potential for more as local authorities look to encourage EV adoption. Featuring a green flash down the left hand side, the new plates can be fitted to all-electric vehicles and could lead to the introduction of additional EV-only incentives in towns and cities across the country.
