Web Wednesdays – New Year, New News!

Welcome to AdFeeder’s web Wednesdays, your weekly dose of the latest news and stories that have caught our eye. From technology news to the latest vehicle releases and everything in between, we aim to bring you a quick run down of what you need to know each week.

We’re back! 2022 is very much in full swing, and the roller coaster that was ’21 can finally be put behind us, but not before we take a quick look over some announcements that you might have missed over the festive period!

TikTok wins big in 2021

Whilst there’s plenty we can go through, let’s start with a big one – with 2021 now all wrapped up we can look over the usage stats that have been released on various social media news sites. TikTok emerged victorious, with a staggering 656 Million downloads worldwide, almost 100 million ahead of second place Instagram, and a whole 240 million ahead of third placed Facebook.

A huge moment for the app, and that figure is even more impressive when you consider the app is currently banned in India. Amongst the list were the usual suspects – Spotify, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat etc, but another very impressive surprise is the TikTok Video editing app known as CapCut – racking up 255 million downloads worldwide.

Looking ahead to 2022, it’s going to be very difficult for those trialing apps to keep up with TikTok!

This company can chop the roof off new Defenders

Next let’s go to the new Defender, a rugged, handsome off roader that looks just as at home outside Harrods as well as in a pool of mud. Despite a bit of a rocky start when it was first launched, the new Defender has almost lived up to its iconic name. There are currently a plethora of options to choose from, but what if you wanted a convertible one? Well, now you can, all thanks to Niels van Roij Design.

This design house is now stranger to a crazy design or two. They are responsible for the stunning coupe’d version of the Range Rover Vogue, as well as the world’s first Tesla Model S shooting brake, and now this Defender convertible is likely to set the motoring world alight. We can picture it now, wafting through the twisty turns of Monte Carlo without even a speck of mud on it.

Still – we think it’s very cool!
